I love being an artist = I love being a mother

Viktória Dányi and Dóra Furulyás have been artists and mothers at the same time for 12 years.
Until now they have consciously drawn the line between the two roles, separating their motherhood from their art. The two artists have now come to the point where they are incorporating the theme of motherhood into their artistic work and inspired by it, they are creating an abstract contemporary dance performance.

The performance is a representation of the maternal qualities experienced by the creators. By comparing the social stereotypes surrounding motherhood with their own experiences, they put this role in a new and complex light through artistic means.

„I came to the conclusion that I need almost the same skills as an artist as I do as a mother. I practice a lot every day. I am persistent, sensitive, flexible and creative. I search and find the best solution. I can do many things at once. I cope well with stress. I am physically resilient. I push my limits regularly. I’m used to being watched. I’m good with contact. I can improvise well, I can react in unexpected situations. I always try to do my best and I appreciate it when you appreciate what I do.”
